You can also design your own attachments to the bottom of the case. The holes on the bottom are spaced in a 50x90mm rectangle and are large enough for M2 screws to go through them.

Ergonomic Layout

The keys of the Iris LM are staggered vertically, allowing it to match the curvature of the tips of your fingers better. The spacing between keys is the same as a normal keyboard.

Getting used to your new Iris LM keyboard may take a bit of time, about 2-4 weeks on average. Don't worry though, we've included a handy reference card with the pre-programmed layout to help guide you.

We've also crafted a blog post containing various tips and tricks for you to use.

Great keyboard, excellent service!

I got the Gateron version of the Iris LM and I am really enjoying it. This is the best price for a pre-soldered board and the quality is excellent. Moreover, the service is really great! The Keebio team and the community have been very helpful for building and also tweaking the firmware. Love this keyboard, and really love the service!

Hi maplesyrup,
Thank you for your kind review! Finding the right keyboard can be life-changing. I'm glad you've found the best split ergo keyboard for you and got the help you needed. Having custom firmware can make typing so much better!
Happy Typing,
Kayla at Keebio!

Transformed my life with chronic hand pain

I cannot say enough good things about this keyboard and this company. As a 20F with chronic and at times disabling hand/wrist pain (likely undiagnosed hEDS), a split and tilted keyboard paired with a vertical mouse has been critical to my ability to keep using a computer.

I was a bit intimidated by how sophisticated the keyboard is with all the layers and switches and such. I worried that this was more for techies than someone like me. That said, the team at Keebio was so kind and explained everything to me. After using the keyboard for the last 3 months, I am now using the Colemak layout along with some customized keys for things I do at work all the time (like a single key for cmd shift 5, keys for copy and paste, and a key that pastes text I have to use a lot). It is taking me a bit longer to learn layers but there are already ones I use frequently. All to say, I am so glad I took the leap!

Before this, I had the Kinesis Freestyle2. Although it worked well for pain management, it was heavy, large, and clunky. Lugging it around was challenging. In comparison, my Keebio set up is light, compact, and portable. The case (I got the larger one) can fit all my keyboard parts and I am sure it will last far longer since it is protected in my backpack. I took it all over Europe as I backpacked for a month and it worked great!

One of my favorite aspects of this keyboard is that I can use it directly on top of my Macbook laptop. No longer am I limited to tables with enough room for my computer and a large keyboard. I've used it on the train, in bed with my cat, on the plane, on the couch, sitting on the floor... This means I now use it way more than I ever did my old keyboard which is great for reducing my flares. I can't wait to be able to use it next semester in college where I will finally be able to type notes in classes with chairs with tiny computer platforms!!

I am not someone who usually writes reviews but this company truly has me impressed. Chronic pain/disability friendly, yep! Small business, absolutely! Great customer support, the best! And the rare device that can actually be fixed/has replaceable parts!! (I am so done with the planned obsolescence that pervades technology companies.)

Hi Else!
Thank you for your glowing review! I'm so excited our Iris LM split keyboard is serving you so well! I'm glad you found the keyboard that would meet your needs best. The team agrees, it's definitely better to be able to repair things whenever we can.

Your cat looks so cozy beside your setup! Give some extra pets from the team.
Happy Typing,

Kayla at Keebio!

Iris LM (Deep Sea Mini Islet)

Here’s a video with a sound test ✨ https://youtu.be/GCCBfSJaoc4

This is my first split keyboard, and it took me about two weeks to get comfortable and remap a lot of keys for efficient use.

I use my own Colemak DH variation with some custom changes and an alternate row for easy access to programming symbols. It works great so far. My only complaint is that the Shift key is a bit too low, especially since I’ve mapped Backspace to the Caps Lock key.

The Deep Sea Mini Islet switches are extremely quiet, check out the video I attached.

This is the quietest keyboard I’ve ever used, and I’m really happy with it. My previous keyboard (Wooting 60HE) was incredibly loud, and nothing I tried could fix it. People would complain about the noise when I was streaming or talking on Discord. Even with noise gates and suppression, it was still a problem.

Now, typing is effortless, and my wrists don’t hurt or get tired from being cramped together. I can sit in a neutral, comfortable position.

I definitely recommend this keyboard! My only small regret is not choosing the aluminum case for an even more premium feel.

Hi there Dr. Rainer,
Thanks so much for your review! Super excited you've been enjoying the Iris LM, our latest ergonomic split mechanical keyboard. It's wonderful to hear it's giving you the quiet and wrist comfort you've been looking for.
Be on the lookout for sales we might run during the holiday season if the aluminum case is still on your wishlist then!
Happy Typing,
Kayla at Keebio!
