Iris LM - Low-Profile

This keyboard is really excellent. I bought one in black with the aluminum case, and then about six months later I bought another in the white with the translucent case. The case and tenting kit are as convenient as can be, but I'm a maximally lazy person when it comes to carrying to and from work 3x a week given my profession; I am a visually impaired software developer who came from the ZSA Moonlander (and was on the precipice of buying a ZSA Voyager) until I met Keebio at All Things Open, an open source accessibility conference hosted in Raleigh, and tried their offerings out in person. The Iris LM is just awesome. The low profile Choc V2 switches while maintaining traditional MX keycap spacing compatibility is a dream for me.

Additionally, I also own a Glove80 like Matt Alexander down below in the review comments--I absolutely enjoy it, but I find the keywells almost too opinionated for my usage, and it is certainly more expensive to boot. This would be my number one recommendation for a split ergo to start with for a newcomer and for repeat users alike (like myself).

Finally, I never thought I would come to appreciate silent switches...until I met the Deep Sea Mini Islet (first black aluminum) and Deep Sea Pink Island (second white polycarb) switches. Fantastic switches. I've been a long time linear fan, but never for silents, and these keyboards have changed that for good.

I was on the hunt for a split keyboard that was portable, I have a Kinesis Adv360 which I like but I wouldn't call it portable though I did travel with it. I stumbled onto this, pulled the trigger and I must say this keyboard (Iris LM) feels amazing. VIA is great and mapping the keys was pretty easy. Very premium build quality too!

I did *a lot* of shopping around for split keyboards. I'm not some Plouffe level of snobby, but I was coming from a fairly posh Keychron Q6 and wanted a split keyboard with similar quality. The price does climb after selecting aluminum case and shipping to canada, but because the base price is very reasonable it was still stomachable, and I'd daresay those who can get free shipping are getting a bargain compared to competitors.

I had tried a competitor from a youtube video and *hated* it. The build felt like it was portability first and typing second, and despite having MX brown switches like my Keychron, the typing experience was hollow and awful.

After doing a lot of searching, I came across Keeb.io from a reddit recommendation, and felt it was the best price to performance balance. I chose low profile and so adapting to choc tactility was a bit of a curve, but compared to the other brand split I had tried it was absolutely night and day.

The PCB, aluminum case and keycaps all feel great individually, and come together to form a board that doesn't feel like it's making sacrifices to be 'ergonomic' like every other option I've seen. Keeb.io has provided a quality mechanical keyboard in a split ortho-linear format with no sacrifices that I haven't seen anywhere else.

This is why I say very literally the Iris is completely uncontested in this space. Some seem to offer slightly fancier ergonomic features, some appear like they may have more 'premium' materials but they all sacrifice on at least one of: Layout, typing experience, build quality. The iris does not.

I have also had great experiences with customer service as I had an RGB issue on one of my PCBs. I liked the Iris CE so much I came back to purchase this LM so I could leave one at the office full time, and I have no regrets.

I have a Glove 80 and a Voyager that I normally use and was curious about the Iris because I'd heard good things about it.

Got the kit and the assembly was easy -- took about 15-20 minutes, most of which was popping in the switches and putting on the caps.

This is a beautiful board, and my favorite thing about it is that it is almost dead silent.i have the Deep Sea Whale switches on it and it's easily the quietest keyboard I've ever typed on, much quieter than the Voyager with Kailh Browns.

The Glove 80 is probably marginally more comfortable but I find myself gravitating toward this keyboard more often. It's quieter and much more compact and with the aluminum case, it feels more solid. The lighting is beautiful too although I keep it off.

Would absolutely recommend. A steal for the price compared to the two boards I mentioned above and I'm considering getting another one for honestly no good reason.

I got the Gateron version of the Iris LM and I am really enjoying it. This is the best price for a pre-soldered board and the quality is excellent. Moreover, the service is really great! The Keebio team and the community have been very helpful for building and also tweaking the firmware. Love this keyboard, and really love the service!
